What it does
ForgetMeNot runs on your streaming PC, reads your Twitch chat, and replies as its own bot account. Everything it learns about your community lives in a SQLite file on your machine. Replies come from Gemini with your own key, or from a local model (Qwen, Gemma) through Ollama or any OpenAI-compatible server — nothing passes through a shared backend.
- Remembers chatters across streams: names, running jokes, callbacks, channel lore
- Reply modes: mentions-only (default), shadow (drafts replies for review without posting), or live
- Restraint by design — chat velocity, mention detection and cooldowns decide when it speaks; dead chat gets silence, not filler
- Persona, tone and reply policy set from the Streamer Online Chat Bot page; safe mode for stricter filtering
- Moderation: timeout proposals behind allow-lists and a shadow mode, so nothing fires without explicit opt-in
- Gemini in the cloud with your key, or Qwen / Gemma locally via Ollama — the setup check proves whichever you pick before the bot goes live
Install
- Download forgetmenot.exe and run it. It lives in the system tray; nothing to install. Keep it running while you stream.
- Pair it on the Chat Bot page. Open Streamer Online → Chat Bot. Pairing is one click — it finds the local runtime and links it to your account — then connect the bot's Twitch account on the same page.
- Pick the AI on the local setup page. Open http://127.0.0.1:7331/setup, choose Gemini (paste your key) or a local model, and press Check. The key stays in ForgetMeNot's local config — it is never entered on the website.
- Say its name in chat. Mentions-only is the default. Switch to shadow or live mode from the Chat Bot page when you trust it.
Planned, not in this release
- Sign in to Twitch from ForgetMeNot itself (device code), with no Streamer Online account or pairing step
- One local settings page for sign-ins, AI, personality, safety and review — replacing the split between the local wizard and the Chat Bot page
- The Chat Bot page on Streamer Online retires once that version ships; this page stays as the download
